Bad zur Sonne

Bringing the sunshine in

"Bad zur Soone" is a local tresure in Graz, famous for it's stunning glass roof that floods the pool with natural light. Even though the building itself is beautiful, it didn't have a visual "soul" to match. I stepped in to create a complete brand world from scratch. My aim was to take that airy, light-filled feeling of the facility and turn it into a consistent identity. From a fresh color pallette to playful patterns, that make people feel welcome the moment they see it.

A little circle of summer

The logo is the heart of this brand. I wanted to capture the essence of the sun "Sonne" in a way that feels both modern and friendly. It's a clean, circular mark, that neatly tucks the sun, sky and water into one geometric shape. Because it's around, it feels approachable and community-focused, while the precise lines keep it looking professional for a city-run facility. Whether it's on a tiny smartphone screen or a giant sign at the entrance, it tells you exactly what to expect: a bright and refreshing experience.

Professionalism meets play

The goal was simple: make a public pool feel like a lifestyle brand. I wanted to bridge the gap between "city-owned" and "leisure-time fun". To do this, I balanced the structured logo with a set of hand-drawn patterns. By adding whimsical illustrations of snorkeling goggles, beach balls and palm leaves, I gave the brand a human touch. The final result is a brand identity, that works for everyone: from the serious morning swimmer, to the family, looking for a sunny afternoon of play.
